Tell us about yourself. We'd love to get to know you.: I am a 44 yr old divorced mother of two: son 24 & daughter 17. I recently started back to college to not only have something to feel productive and keep active, but to also secure my future. I have been on disability since 1999. I went from a very good job making 40k/yr. to living on soc.sec. disability. What a change in lifestyle. This was definitely one of those "you don't know what you have until it's gone" scenarios. I try to keep positive and stay thankful, but with my current and ongoing medial problems, it's really hard sometimes. I have always been an active person, so to put these limitations on me, well, let's just say it didn't go very well. I try to socialize as much as my health will allow. Which really isn't much lately. I'm excited to be joining this group and hope that I will be able to learn and grow with others.

Tell us about your health conditions, if any: I've experienced back pain most of my life. Diagnosed with mild scoliosis and arthritic spurs on my spine wen I was 15 yrs old, didn't do much for my social life at the time; and still continues to this day. I had neck surgery c5/6, 1st ribresection, scalenectomy, elbow surgery for nerve repair and part removed, Lumbar discectomy L4/5, (R) knee repair after a fall. I have also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, clinical depression due to PTSD and dissociation disorder, as well as my current diagnosis: Bulged disc at c6/7 with compression and flattening of the ventral cervical cord; narrowing, bulging at c4/5. herniation w/bulging and at L4/5; and now they just told me that I have a spinal granuloma 'probably' due to the morphine/clonidine pump with catheter at that spot. They told me that it is rare. Out of all his patients, my doctor says this is only the 2nd case out of all his patients at his pain clinic. I have to return to my neurosurgeon to see what kind of treatment they recommend for the granuloma, and bad discs. I'm frightened. I don't even really know what the granuloma is and don't really want to go, but the pain is so bad that it's that surgery is inevitable. I just really don't know about the granuloma or what it entalils.I need anwers, Quick!
